How good is a Suzuki touch-up paint pen?

Used correctly, a Suzuki touch-up pen will give you a good result without taking your car to the bodyshop. They are designed to fix minor damage like chips and scratches to make them less obvious, and they’ll be close to body-shop perfect. So long as you order the right paint and apply it as recommended, the damage will blend in.

PaintNuts Suzuki touch up pens are mixed to order because they are an exact colour match to the original paint. If your car is older, your original paint may have faded - this is normal, but it does mean the colour of your pen might appear more vibrant in comparison.

You can blend in the fix by using other products, like PaintNuts Professional Scratch & Scuff Remover or a wax polish, to bring out more of the original colour and shine.

Does Suzuki touch up paint need a primer?

A primer is only required for your Suzuki if your chip or scratch goes down to the metal and if any rust is present. A lacquer is recommended in most cases– especially with metallic paints. It should be applied 24 hours after the coloured coat and will give the perfect finish your Suzuki deserves.

Can you spray paint car scratches on your Suzuki?

Provided you use spray paint that’s specifically formulated for touching up cars, you can repair scratches to your car bodywork. PaintNuts colour matched touch up aerosol contains our specifically formulated 1k paint as opposed to the traditional 2k non air-dried paint.

This means it’s sure to work on your Suzuki. Not only that, but it’s colour-matched and mixed to order, too. Once repaired, you’ll forget the damage ever existed. To order your colour-matched paint for your car, simply enter your car registration number into our reg look-up tool, select the product you require and we’ll do the rest.

How do you touch up scratches on a Suzuki with a paint bottle and brush?

PaintNuts colour-match touch up bottle is particularly useful for touching up and addressing scratches and chips on your Suzuki. For the right way to use it, follow the steps below:

  1. Prepare & clean -  first, smooth the surface with wet and dry sandpaper to reduce any imperfections. For best results, we recommend the Norton Topcoat sanding sheets.

  2. Apply a primer (optional) - If you are addressing a deep scratch or chip, or you can see bare metal or plastic, we suggest you use PaintNuts Primer first. If rust is present, use our Rust Converter as well.

  3. Shake to mix - Shake the colour-match paint for 2-3 minutes to mix it thoroughly. Then, scrape any excess paint from the brush stem against the bottle to remove it.

  4. Test the paint - Apply a small amount of paint to the damaged area to check the colour match. Then, wait for 15 minutes for it to dry. Please be aware that the paint colour can appear different when wet.

  5. Apply the paint  - Using the brush, apply thin, light coats of paint using smooth strokes, ensuring the paint remains in the damaged area.

  6. Assess for a second coat - Allow the paint to dry for 15 minutes, and assess whether you need to apply a second coat.

  7. Allow the paint to cure - After you’ve applied the final coat of colour-matched touch-up paint, let the paint cure for 1 hour before applying lacquer or polishing to your Suzuki.

After a hiatus from their automotive aspirations throughout WWII and a collapse in the Japanese cotton industry, Suzuki officially launched their first motorcycle in 1952 and then first car in 1955.
