The Kia Sportage was released to European motorists in the mid-1990s, however, buyers in Asia had access to it a few years prior in 1993. Initially, motorists had two different shapes to choose from when buying a Sportage. They could either purchase a five-door SUV or a sporty-looking 3-door soft-top convertible.

Anyone looking to buy a Kia Sportage in the 1990s had many colour choices. The paint colours on offer included neutral options like Beet Silver Metallic, Ebony Black, and Crystal White, as well as bolder options like Blaze Red, Turquoise Blue Metallic, and Hot Red Metallic.

After the first generation underperformed in terms of sales, the Kia Sportage was briefly resigned to the history books, only to be brought back again two years later, in 2005. Now relaunched, the second generation Sportage looked very similar to its SUV competitor, the Hyundai Tucson.

For the second generation, there were multiple new Kia paint colours for motorists looking to buy a new Sportage. The new additions to the range included Olive Green Metallic, Stone Beige Metallic, Smart Blue Metallic and Classic Red to name a handful.

When the third generation Sportage came along in 2010, the car had become a lot popular in the SUV market. This generation had a more modern design and some more safety features. As well as a change in styling and technology, the Kia offered the Sportage in an updated range of paint colours too. The paint colours included Byte Blue Metallic, Infra Red II Metallic, Techno Orange Metallic and Casa White.

Rolling on 2015, Kia released the fourth generation Sportage. Reaching new heights in popularity, the vehicle became one of the most popular SUVs in the UK. Currently in 2024, with the fifth generation of the Kia Sportage, it retains its popularity. The current colour palette offered for the Kia Sportage includes Infra Red, Fusion White, Phantom Black and Dark Penta Metal.
