PaintNuts Professional Scratch & Scuff Remover uses the latest technology in polishing compounds, specially developed for permanently removing light scratches, scuffs and sanding marks within the first layer of the topcoat paint or lacquer, the compound will also diminish the look of deeper defects.
Safe to use on all paintwork including metallics and pearlescent paints. The compound is also specially developed to be used in conjunction with PaintNuts colour matched paints as a final finish to assist in blending the repaired paintwork and diminish any defects.
PaintNuts Professional Scratch & Scuff Remover is extremely easy to use, and the results will be visible within 60 seconds.
If your damage is deep enough to catch your fingernail when your run over the bodywork surface, then you will not be able to remove completely with just scratch and scuff paste – you would diminish it and then need to use the touch up pen with colour matched paint.

Directions for use
STEP ONE - Apply the Paintnuts Scuff Remover
- Clean. Clean the vehicle and remove any dirt particles that can cause further defects.
- Application. Apply a small amount of our PaintNuts compound to an applicator pad, apply even pressure in a straight back and forth motion left to right and then up and down untill the scratch or scuff has been removed or reduced.
- Remove & Buff. Buff the area with our PaintNuts Micro Fibre Polishing Cloth to remove the compound residue.
STEP TWO - Applying the PainNuts Colour-Matched Touch-Up Paint
- Mix and Test - Shake the pen vigorously for at least 3 minutes to ensure the colour is fully mixed, especially important for metallic shades that may settle in the bottle. We recommend testing the colour on an inconspicuous spot first and letting it dry for 10 minutes to confirm the match. Paint can appear different when wet or inside the container.
- Surface Prep - Make sure the area is clean and dry, with no wax, polish, or debris remaining.
- Paint Application - Use either the fine metal nib or brush to apply smooth, thin layers. If you're using the needle-point tip, rest it gently in the damaged spot and lightly squeeze to control the flow of paint. Avoid layering fresh paint over partially dried coats, as this may affect the colour consistency. Allow each layer to dry for up to 30 minutes. Once you're satisfied, let the final coat cure for 1 hour before proceeding with lacquer.
STEP THREE - Sealing with PaintNuts Clear Lacquer
- Shake to activate - Shake the lacquer pen for at least one minute to ensure the contents are fully mixed and ready to use.
- Prep the area - Confirm the surface is clean and dry, with no remaining polish, wax or dust.
- Apply the lacquer - Whether you're using the brush or needle-point tip, apply light coats in steady, controlled strokes. If using the needle tip, insert it gently into the chip or scratch and squeeze carefully to apply lacquer only to the repair site. Let each layer dry for up to 30 minutes. If a second coat isn't needed, allow the lacquer to cure for 4 full hours before using any buffing compound or polish.
