Safe to use on all paintwork including metallics and pearlescent paints. The compound is also specially developed to be used in conjunction with PaintNuts colour matched paints as a final finish to assist in blending the repaired paintwork and diminish any defects.
PaintNuts Professional Scratch & Scuff Remover is extremely easy to use, and the results will be visible within 60 seconds.
If your damage is deep enough to catch your fingernail when your run over the bodywork surface, then you will not be able to remove completely with just scratch and scuff paste – you would diminish it and then need to use the touch up pen with colour matched paint.

Directions for use
STEP ONE - PaintNuts Professional Scratch & Scuff Remover
- Clean. Clean the vehicle and remove any dirt particles that can cause further defects.
- Application. Apply a small amount of our PaintNuts compound to an applicator pad, apply even pressure in a straight back and forth motion left to right and then up and down untill the scratch or scuff has been removed or reduced.
- Remove & Buff. Buff the area with our PaintNuts Micro Fibre Polishing Cloth to remove the compound residue.
STEP TWO - PaintNuts Primer Touch Up Bottle
- Preparation - The surface must be clean and dry - make sure all wax, polish and dust is removed. If rust is present, we suggest a rust treatment as well.
- Mixing - Shake bottle thoroughly for at least 1 minute to ensure the primer is mixed correctly.
- Application - Using the brush apply thin, light coats in smooth strokes; allow the brush to sit inside the scratch or chip ensuring you only apply the primer within the damaged area. Leave the primer to dry for up to 30 minutes before applying any further coats, if no further coat is required, then leave to cure for 1 full hour before applying the PaintNuts Colour Matched Touch Up Pen.
STEP THREE - PaintNuts Colour Matched Touch Up Bottle
- Preparation - The surface must be clean and dry - make sure all wax, polish and dust is removed.
- Mixing & Colour Check - Shake the bottle for 2-3 Minutes to ensure the paint is thoroughly mixed correctly (if your paint is a Metallic Paint, you may notice the paint has separated within the bottle, this paint will need a vigorous shake, then test in a discreet area to check the colour match leaving the paint to dry for 15 minutes – paints will often appear different in colour inside the bottle, when wet or if applied incorrectly.
- Application - Using the brush apply thin, light coats in smooth strokes; allow the brush to sit inside the scratch or chip ensuring you only apply the primer within the damaged area. Do Not apply new paint on top of existing paint as this will leave the area of repair looking lighter or darker. Leave the colour matched paint to dry for up to 15 mins before applying any further coats, if no further coat is required, then leave to cure for 1 full hour before applying the PaintNuts Clear Lacquer.
STEP FOUR - PaintNuts Clear Lacquer Touch Up Bottle
- Preparation - The surface must be clean and dry - make sure all wax, polish and dust is removed.
- Mixing - Shake bottle thoroughly for at least 1 minute to ensure the lacquer is mixed correctly.
- Application - Using the brush apply thin, light coats in smooth strokes; allow the brush to sit inside the scratch or chip ensuring you only apply the primer within the damaged area. Leave the lacquer to dry for up to 30 minutes before applying a second coat if required, if no further coat is required, you must leave the lacquer to cure for 4 hours before you use any buffing or polishing solution/compound.

How to use the PaintNuts Bottle

- Surface Prep - Begin by cleaning the area thoroughly. Ensure it's dry and free from wax, polish, dust, or grease. If any rust is present, it should be treated with a rust converter before priming.
- Shake to Mix - Vigorously shake the primer bottle for at least 60 seconds to blend the contents evenly.
- Application - Using the brush, apply light, even layers directly into the damaged area. Let the brush settle into the chip or scratch and avoid spreading primer beyond the repair zone. Allow up to 30 minutes of drying time between coats. Once the final coat is applied, leave it to fully cure for 1 hour before moving on to the colour stage.
- Clean the Area - The surface must be clean and completely dry. Double-check that no residue or contaminants remain before applying paint.
- Mixing & Colour Test - Shake the paint bottle well for 2-3 minutes. Metallic paints often separate and may need extra agitation. Before starting your repair, test the colour on an inconspicuous spot and let it dry for 15 minutes. This helps confirm the match, as paint can appear different while wet or in the bottle.
