- Clean the area thoroughly. Remove any dirt, wax or debris before you start.
- For deeper chips or scratches showing bare metal, apply primer first and treat any rust before painting.
- Apply the paint in thin coats — the pen tip or brush for chips and scratches, an aerosol for larger areas. Let each coat dry for around 25 minutes before applying the next.
- Once the final colour coat is dry (leave at least 24 hours), apply a lacquer coat for gloss and protection.
- Polish the area to blend the repair into the surrounding paintwork. The PaintNuts Scratch and Scuff Remover works well here. Skip this step for matte finishes.
